Frequently Asked Questions
We know navigating home health care can raise many questions. Here are answers to the ones we hear most from patients and families.
General
Home health care is skilled medical care provided in your home by licensed professionals — including nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and medical social workers. It is typically ordered by a physician and covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance.
Home health involves skilled medical services (nursing, therapy, wound care) ordered by a physician. Home care provides non-medical assistance with daily activities like bathing, meal preparation, and companionship. CarePine offers both types of services.
CarePine operates across Pennsylvania and Florida with offices in Allentown, Horsham, Stroudsburg, Boca Raton, and Pompano Beach. We serve surrounding counties from each office location.
Eligibility
To qualify for Medicare-covered home health, you typically need a physician's order, must be homebound (leaving home requires considerable effort), and need intermittent skilled care. Eligibility varies by insurance plan — our team can help verify your coverage.
Insurance
Yes. Medicare Part A and Part B cover home health services when ordered by a physician for homebound patients who need skilled nursing or therapy. There is no copay or deductible for Medicare-covered home health services. CarePine is a Medicare-certified agency.
CarePine accepts Medicare, Medicaid (in applicable states), and most major commercial insurance plans. Our intake team will verify your specific coverage before services begin. Private pay options are also available.
Services
CarePine provides skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, home health aide services, private duty nursing, pediatric nursing, and specialty programs including wound care and chronic disease management.
The duration varies based on your care plan and medical needs. Medicare-covered episodes are typically 60 days, though care can be extended if medically necessary. Your care team will regularly assess your progress and adjust the plan accordingly.
We do our best to match you with a caregiver who meets your needs and preferences. While we cannot guarantee a specific clinician, we welcome your input and strive for continuity of care by assigning consistent caregivers whenever possible.
