Infusion therapy support

Understanding Infusion therapy support
CarePine's infusion therapy specialty program enables patients to receive complex intravenous treatments at home under the care of specially trained nurses. Home-based infusion therapy offers patients the comfort and convenience of treatment in their own environment while maintaining the clinical safety standards required for IV medication administration.
The program covers a range of infusion therapies including long-term antibiotics, hydration therapy, immunoglobulin infusions, pain management, and parenteral nutrition. Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan developed in collaboration with the prescribing physician and specialty pharmacy.
How the Infusion Program Works
Specially trained nurses manage vascular access devices, prepare and administer infusions per pharmacy protocols, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and educate patients and caregivers on line care and emergency procedures. Treatment schedules are coordinated to minimize disruption to daily life.
Living with Home Infusion Therapy
Follow all line care instructions to prevent infection. Keep the area around your access site clean and dry. Store medications according to pharmacy instructions. Keep emergency contact numbers easily accessible. Report any concerns between nurse visits — do not wait for the next scheduled appointment.
When to Contact Your Care Team
Contact your nurse immediately for signs of line infection, infusion reactions (fever, chills, rash, or breathing changes during infusion), pump malfunctions, or accidental line displacement. Call 911 for severe allergic reactions, chest pain, or difficulty breathing during or after an infusion.
